Edged A flower that has a color band around the perimeter which may vary from just a faint pinstripe to a thick margin. The color of the edge can be very subtle or it can be of a very contrasting color. Because the edging is white, it could also be called a "geneva edge". |
Fantasy A flower which has one basic color, but also is dotted and/or splashed with other colors. Notice also that this one also has a very faint "edge" as well. |
Pinwheel A flower which has rays of color starting at the center and radiating out to the ends of the petals. It may also appear like the blades of a fan to some. This is mostly seen in the varieties called "Chimeras". |
Single A flower with 5 petals. Often the 2 upper petals are smaller than the lower 3. When all petals are equal in size, it is referred as a "star". |
Double A flower with a minimum of 10 petals. The petals appear to be arranged in two rows, one upon the other in a "stacked" arrangement. |
Red Reverse Notice that the underside of the leaf has a red color. |
Pointed Foliage The leaf foliage has a pointed shape. |
Ruffled Foliage The leaf foliage has a ruffled edge. This example is variegated as well. |
